Google Analytics for a site you own
Google Analytics is the right tool when key events fire on a site or app you control.
Google Analytics is the free measurement product for a website or an app you own. Google's Analytics page says the product is free, and it links your property to Google Ads, Search Ads 360, and Display & Video 360.
Compare ClickMagick and Google Analytics if a network commission is the number you are trying to match.
It earns its place when the conversion happens on a screen you control. A signup on your domain, a purchase at your checkout, or a step in your app. The attribution article lists three models in the Advertising reports: data-driven, paid and organic last click, and Google paid channels last click. Data-driven attribution scores both converting and non-converting paths with machine learning. The older multi-touch models left those reports in November 2023.
The features page says those conversions and audiences can be imported into Google Ads, and that the Measurement Protocol can import events from a system you connect. You send that data in yourself. An affiliate network that approves a commission on its own checkout has nowhere in Analytics to post that commission.
ClickMagick, by comparison, logs the click and receives the network's server-to-server call. Plan details for the free account are on the Google Analytics pricing page.
